I used it exclusively for a couple of years. I haven't used DI-Pro-10, so I don't have a direct comparison, but Elements 4.0 is a great product. Other than running Parallels with OS X is there anything like Digital Image Pro made for a Mac? I know there are things you can do in PS that you can't in Digital Image Pro (lots of them) but I really liked Digital Image Pro for its simplicity. This was easy to do.I know the same can be achieved in Photoshop or PSE but I've tried (on a Windows version of PSE) and thought it was much more complicated and in the end, no one can tell if a photo was made in Photoshop of Digital Image Pro. Because of the copy and paste, the coloured object sits right on the original (in the exact same spot) so you don't get the look of cut out). Often keeping it in full bold colour looks off and desaturating it by 30 or 40% give a nice hand tinted look. Then click on the coloured object for adjustments such as slightly desaturating it or changing the colour temperature or anything else that is needed to make it look right. Then click on the full photo and convert to B&W or desaturate it (always more than one way to do things). In the full colour image, use the edge finder tool to select what you want to keep in colour, copy and paste it (essentially it forms a "layer" but it does not call it that) and drops it right on the original photo such that you could not tell it was there when both components are in full colour. I know it does not come close to the sofistication of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements but I found it very intuitive and easy to use and I was easily able to do some interesting things much more easily than in Photoshop.įor example, for B&W photos with selective colouring this was my workflow: I used to use Microsoft's Digital Image Pro 10 for a good portion of my photo editing. I recently got my first Mac notebook after being a PC user forever. I hesitated to post this here but I did a search and have found nothing and I really want to know the answer to this.
